Phil Lord and Chris Miller to write "Lego 2"

Phil Lord and Chris Miller join "Lego" once again.

28 Oct – Earlier this year, it was reported that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will not be returning to the director's chair for the sequel to this year's highly successful "The Lego Movie".

However, the duo is not leaving the project completely. Deadline reports that Lord and Miller will still be part of the upcoming sequel as they have recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. to pen the script for it.

No word yet on whether they will also return as directors but it is good to know that the script will be in capable hands. The first high-grossing "Lego" was also written by Lord and Miller.

"The Lego Movie" tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure, who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He unwillingly joins a group of strangers on a quest to stop an evil tyrant, turning it into a fun and hilarious adventure as the average minifigure is hopelessly under prepared for the mission.

Initially planned for release in 2017, the sequel date has since been pushed to make way for the movie's "Batman" spinoff.
