29 Oct - Poor Gerard Butler. As Secret Service agent Mike Banning, he certainly has his hands full saving the day... and yes, the U.S. President (Aaron Eckhart's Benjamin Asher) twice in a row.
First, he was seen rescuing the commander in chief after being held under siege within the White House by a North Korean terrorist (Rick Yune) in "Olympus Has Fallen".
Then in the sequel, "London Has Fallen", Banning must ensure President Asher's safety after the Pakistani terrorist leader (Waleed Zuaiter) launched an all-out attack against several world leaders in the city of London during a national funeral service for the passing of British Prime Minster James Wilson.
Now, Deadline reports that Butler is set to return as Mike Banning in the third instalment titled as "Angel Has Fallen".
Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, who previously scripted the previous two movies, are again responsible for the third movie. This time, the plot will see Banning himself becoming the target of a terrorist group while the "Angel" in the title refers to the code name for Air Force One.
It is not yet known who will direct "Angel Has Fallen". The previous two entries were directed by Antoine Fuqua and Babak Najafi, respectively.
In 2013, "Olympus Has Fallen" made USD161 million worldwide and "London Has Fallen", released earlier this year, generated an even bigger box-office collection of USD205 million worldwide.
