Danny Boyle, helmer of "127 Hours", confirmed that he will be directing "Bond 25".
16 Mar – Director Danny Boyle, helmer of award-winning movie "127 Hours", has confirmed that he will be directing the upcoming "Bond 25".
"We are working on a script right now," stated Boyle at the screening of his new FX show "Trust" at New York's Florence Gould Hall Theater recently, according to Metro USA.
Joining Boyle in writing the script is "Trainspotting" screenwriter, John Hodge.
"We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment," said Boyle, though he declined sharing any info about the story.
If all goes according to plan, the next instalment of the "Bond" franchise will begin shooting at the end of the year.
However, Variety reports that if Boyle's script is not accepted by Eon Productions, the production company will instead go with the alternate script written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who previously collaborated for earlier Bond films since "The World Is Not Enough" to "Spectre".
Daniel Craig is still expected to reprise the starring role for the upcoming movie, as he previously stated, "I just want to go out on a high note and I can't wait."
