17 Nov – Hong Kong pop diva GEM Tang recently took to social media to express sadness over the death of the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee.

Following the news of his death, GEM shared a photo on Instagram of her with Lee during their meeting to discuss the creation of the new female superhero, Jewel.

She wrote, "So shocked, so sad... One of the sweetest and most humble person I've met, it's my honour to have met you and share meetings on your creative and thought process.

"You have been a big big inspiration to the world, you have brought hopes and courage to so many people's lives. Thanks for empowering and encouraging so many people and let them believe in themselves. Thanks for everything that you have done! We'll miss you [Stan Lee]!"

It was only a month ago that Lee unveiled his new Marvel superhero, which was inspired by the Hong Kong singer herself.

According to Lee, his new superhero Jewel is a world-touring pop star by day and a superhero at night, who developed her superpowers following an incident involving her grandmother and a charm bracelet.

He was 95.
