2 Jun – Fans who have been hoping to see Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff reunited with her twin brother Pietro in Disney+ series "WandaVision" might just see their dreams come true.
Don't expect to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson dashing in though, because it might be the other Quicksilver who's appearing in the series.
Murphy's Multiverse broke the news that Evan Peters has signed on for a key role in the upcoming series.
Unless, the studio is tapping into Peters' darker side. The actor is also well known for his multiple characters in the anthology TV series "American Horror Story", mostly playing villainous characters. So he could potentially be featured as a villain instead of a superhero in "WandaVision".
Peters, who reportedly signed up for the role last year, has filmed his scenes for the series. Looks like fans will just have to wait until it's released to find out whether he's one of the good guys or the baddies.
Peters previously played Peter Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver in three "X-Men" movies. He made his debut in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" before reprising the role in "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Dark Phoenix".
Meanwhile, Taylor-Johnson, who coincidentally co-starred with Peters in the superhero comedy "Kick-Ass" years before both went on to become Quicksilver, only got to play the character in two MCU movies (counting uncredited appearance), "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron".
Previously expected to be released in 2021, earlier in January it was revealed that "WandaVision" would start streaming on Disney+ sometime this year instead. However, given the current pandemic that has halted most projects, its release date could be changed again.
