"Wonder Woman 1984" has been moved from its June 2020 release date.
25 Mar – A couple of days ago, Warner Bros. debunked rumours of "Wonder Woman 1984" making its premiere on digital platforms instead of in cinemas but did not reveal if it was still releasing this June.
The studio has finally confirmed that the movie will be postponed, according to its statement to Variety.
The highly anticipated sequel has been moved from its 5 June slot and will now open in North American cinemas on 14 August 2020.
"When we greenlit 'Wonder Woman 1984,' it was with every intention to be viewed on the big screen," said Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman, when announcing the new date.
Star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins also announced the postponement on their respective social media accounts, on which both also shared the movie's colourful new poster that features the titular superhero in her Golden Eagle armour.
