1 Mar –Chadwick Boseman was recently named Best Actor, posthumously, for his performance in Netflix's "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.
Boseman bested other worthy nominees including Anthony Hopkins ("The Father") and Riz Ahmed ("The Sound of Metal"). The late actor became only the second actor to win a Golden Globe after his death following Peter Finch, who won in 1977 for "Network" two weeks following his passing.
His Best Actor win meant that Boseman's Academy Awards' nomination is virtually locked. The late "Black Panther" star will be competing again at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this April.
Boseman passed away back in August 2020 after years of battling colon cancer. He was 43.
