30 Mar –Aside from developing the upcoming hybrid adaptation of "ThunderCats" and promoting "Godzilla vs. Kong", director Adam Wingard recently revealed that he is also currently working on the sequel to the hit John Woo movie, "Face/Off" (1997).
The filmmaker, who spoke about the upcoming project with Deadline, stressed that it would be a sequel and not a remake like it was previously reported.
The director also previously stated that both Nicolas Cage and John Travolta, who starred in the previous movie, are interested to reprise their roles, but will wait for the script approval before signing on.
"We're still writing the script so it's still in early phases. Simon [Barrett] and I are very close to turning in our draft to Paramount soon," Wingard said.
The original movie, which was released in 1997, stars Travolta as FBI agent Sean Archer, who - following a facial transplant surgery where he swaps faces with terrorist Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage) to investigate about the latter's bombing plan - finds himself racing against time to recover his identity and save others from the threats of Troy's terrorism.
