Writer Ratings:

Watch this if you liked: “Padikathavan” & “Sivakasi”.

Action film director Siva who did "Siruthai" with Kartik few years back, is back with another mass commercial entertainer with Ajith Kumar playing the lead hero in "Veeram" (Brave).

Vinayagam (Ajith Kumar) a bachelor who takes care of his four brothers played by Vidarth, Munish, Bala and Suhail. All of them are known to be tremendously violent and get into fights most of the time. When Vinayakam falls for Kopperundevi (Tamannah) a peace loving person from a humble family background, complication arises due to their different personality. How Vinayakam overcomes this and at the same time takes down his enemies who are seeking revenge on them forms the rest of the story.

Ajith Kumar maintains his larger-than-life character and seen in every single frame with a new rural looks in traditional dress 'Dhoti'. With an added weight and white hair style, he may look older, but manage to keep his heroism maintained till the end with high note dialogues to entertain his fans. Tamannah may not have much of reason to be in the film except appearing in song sequences. Santhanam with his usual comedy helps to give some bones tickling. Villains in the film appear only in few scenes and disappear fast without much scope. Devi Sri Prasad's background music is better than his song tracks except the melody track 'Ival Thana' being a good listen. Stunt choreographer Silva provides some good high intense fight sequences, but unfortunately some fight scenes were censored by the film board here.

Commercial elements like action, romance, comedy and family sentiments are something that you may have seen in many past films but director Siva packaged it to make audience engaged throughout the film with just minor drawbacks in logic department. On whole, "Veeram" is catered to all section of audience who loves routine commercial formula films, especially Ajith's die-hard fans.
