The Good, the Bad and the Wawasan 2020 Capsule:

The first and final feature film from the late Martias Ali is undeniably one of the most anticipated movies of this year. This is because not only does it showcase the Malays' struggle in freeing the country, but it also touches on the Wawasan 2020 capsule that was buried by former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

The film is an artwork filled with advices and reminders to today's youth and future generations of the hardship endured by older generations in order to achieve peace and independence.

The film goes through four different eras: the Japanese occupation; the ruling of the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman; the ruling of the second Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak; and lastly the ruling of the fourth Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

In all honesty, making a film related to history is a challenge as the subject matter tends to bore the audiences. However, the director successfully changed the perception by also inserting a science fiction element and a touch of comedy, therefore making "Kapsul" a highly interesting film.

Faizal Hussein, who plays the lead role, does not disappoint with his solid performance. Other prominent actors that complete the cast include Datuk Rahim Razali, Jue Aziz, Haeriyanto Hassan and Zamarul Hisham.

Despite the movie brimming with the big names, there is, however, one highly-anticipated role: that of Tun Dr. Mahathir. The former Prime Minister himself plays his onscreen role. Though he only appears in the final act of the movie, where he shares a scene with Faizal Hussein, it still manages to leave a big impact on the audiences.

All in all, this reviewer understands the director's vision in wanting the audiences, especially the younger generations, to catch a glimpse of what the older generations went through all for the sake of our beloved homeland.
