The Good, the Bad and the Dream-like Island:

• If you are into overly sweet and simple romantic flicks with a pretty predictable ending, then this film is your cup of tea.

• The film doesn't have much conflict but it is full of cliches, so some might find the plot a bit boring.

• Nevertheless, the simplistic value of the film makes it the perfect holiday film as the theme is relaxing and you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery and habitat of Penghu islands thanks to the brilliant cinematography skills.

• Another good point is that you get to learn a lot about Taiwan's beautiful culture.

• Shu Qi and Richie Jen is no stranger to romantic films, their performance are flawless, though some may find Shu Qi a bit annoying in the film due to her princess-ish attitude, but that just means that her acting is that good.

Trivia:

• The film was inspired by a classic Chinese song titled "Grandmother's Pescadores Islands" (外婆的澎湖湾).
