Despite what her ailing father tells her, Jung-ae believes that there is always hope in life. Her father, whom she lives with in a redevelopment area of Seoul, doesn`t share the same optimism as he has stopped treatment and is just waiting for his end-stage cancer to take his life. When the teenage girl receives a letter from the mother who left her a long time ago, she believes that the woman is her last hope and embarks on a journey to reunite with her long-lost mother.
