Intelligent Lives

This documentary, which highlights how people with intellectual disabilities are fully capable of going through the education system, locking down employment and forming intimate relationship, unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of the US` intelligence testing. It follows three young Americans, Micah, Naieer, and Naomie, who challenge the perception of intelligence as they go through high school, college and work despite their intellectual disabilities. Oscar-winning actor Chris Cooper provides the narration, contextualising these central characters` lives through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse.
