Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Author Lee Israel makes her living from the `60s to the `80s writing profiles of high-achieving women. When she is no longer able to get her writing published, she turns to forgery. She fakes letters, making them appear as if they were written by writers, playwrights and actors that have passed away. She successfully sells them but it stopped when people become suspicious of a Noel Coward letter. To continue making money, she and her loyal friend Jack Hock start selling real letters stolen from library archives.
