JFF Short Film Program 1

A collection of three short films directed by Japanese filmmakers. Koji Yamamoto`s "Makhaliss" revolves around the titular cold god of death, who appears in front of the seriously ill 17-year-old Satsuki to take her life away. But through Satsuki and her mother, Makhaliss begins to understand the cruelty and yet beauty of human love. Kai Hasson`s "Robu" follows the titular 17-year-old American boy who, while on a four-day quest in Japan to look for the second issue of his favourite Japanese manga that his father left him, suddenly realises that the events of the manga world are unfolding in real life and he is the main character. Yoshida Kota`s "Natto" tells of designer Enatsu who is visited by a man named Kurita on his day off, only to learn that Kurita wants to apologise for having an affair with his wife.
