Meet the colourful cast of "Turbo"!

Expect the unexpected in DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox's computer-animated sports comedy film "Turbo"! Directed by David Soren as his directorial debut, the film tells the story of an ordinary garden snail whose dream to become the fastest snail in the world comes true after a freak accident when he gets sucked into the supercharger of a drag racer, fusing his DNA with nitrous oxide. Turbo then finds himself vested with the power of incredible speed and accuracy, as well as the characteristics of a car and embarks on an extraordinary journey to race in the Indianapolis 500.

There are some pretty big names lending their voices for the animated sports comedy film, so read on to find out who's who if you haven't yet!

Ryan Reynolds, who is best known as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in "Green Lantern" (2011), voices Theo a.k.a. Turbo. The Canadian actor is definitely no stranger to voice acting, having lent his voice for "The Croods" as Guy. Personally, we are kind of sad that we won't be able to see his face in the film but we'll take what we can get.

Every never-say-no protagonist has to be accompanied by a wet fish of a companion, and in "Turbo", it's Chet, Theo's careful older brother who is constantly embarrassed about Theo's racing dreams. Chet is voiced by Paul Giamatti, who is a pretty serious actor in his own right, which is why it is kind of unbelievable that Theo can get away with not listening to him.

Actor Michael Pena is getting more and more roles in mainstream films lately, and even in "Turbo" he plays more or less the main character, Tito, a "Dos Bros" taco truck driver who finds and befriends Turbo. We mean, if Tito did not capture Turbo and Chet, we doubt Turbo would have been able to make it into competition for the Indianapolis 500.

Also, Michael Pena looks sort of like Mark Ruffalo in the picture below:

Snoop Dogg, who is more recently known as Snopp Lion, is now playing a snail known as Smoove Move. We are still trying to wrap our heads around the name, but Smoove Move is a super-cool low rider who has a unique perspective on even the craziest twists and turns triggered by Turbo. In addition, Snoop Lion also contributed to the soundtrack with an original song titled "Let The Bass Go", which will be played over the closing credits. Now that you know, you don't have to whip out your phone to Shazam if you like it.

You probably know Maya Rudolph's face from "Grown Ups" (2010) and "Bridesmaids" (2011), but not her voice, so aren't you glad that you read this feature? The actress plays Burn, a red hot snail who is also Turbo's love interest.

Bombshell Michelle Rodriguez, whom we last saw in "Fast And Furious 6", returns to the screen, or at least, her voice, as Paz, a tough car mechanic with funky coloured hair. However, fans of Rodriguez beware, because Paz doesn't do much in the film other than being the woman who owns a mechanic store.

To be honest, we are a little sad that Samuel L. Jackson is in this film because we would love to hear him busting out the F-bombs but let's face it, "Turbo" is a kids' film, no matter how many adults go to watch it. Nevertheless, you can expect Jackson to do a good job at it, seeing that he was marvellous as Frozone in Disney-Pixar's "The Incredibles".As the snail leader of the racing stunts, Theo saw Whiplash as a bully at first, but eventually the latter becomes his mentor.

Guy Gagne, who is voiced by Bill Hader, is a French-Canadian racer driver and five-time Indy 500 champ who is also Theo's idol. However, under his eccentric yet charismatic charming personality is a competitive egomaniac who will do anything to win Real-life Indy 500 champion Dario Franchitti was the inspiration for Guy.

"Turbo" is out in cinemas on 18 July 2013!
