Where are the cast of "Harry Potter" now?

Emma Watson, now and then.

It's been more than 5 years since the end of the "Harry Potter" franchise. While some of the familiar faces, such as Emma Watson who appears in the upcoming adaptation of "The Circle", have gone on to be seen in places outside of the Wizarding World, there are some that we don't see just as often that makes us wonder where they have been.

With the Harry Potter franchise now moving on to explore a new universe (and monsters!) with a new batch of characters, we look back at the original students of Hogwarts and see where are they now.

Daniel Radcliffe

Starting off with the boy wizard, Daniel Radcliffe has been working hard to shed his wizardly image since the end of the franchise. Starring immediately in "The Woman in Black" after the finale of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", Radcliffe's resume has been peppered with serious performance works for "Kill Your Darlings" and "Horns", blockbusters in "Now You See Me 2" and "Victor Frankenstein", to even romance in "What If". No role has been too weird for Radcliffe, who also did a stint on Broadway (where he even went nude), and most recently playing a farting corpse in "Swiss Army Man".

Emma Watson

Following closely in reworking herself away from the lovable Hermione Granger, Watson dived into some serious indie works for "My Week with Marilyn" shortly after the conclusion of the Harry Potter series in 2011. This was followed by a lovable performance as the it girl in Stephen Chomsky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". From there, she has worked with some of the most renowned directors in the likes of Sofia Coppola ("The Bling Ring") and Darren Aronofsky ("Noah"). Not being all too serious, she lighten up by appearing herself in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's "This is the End", and has raised her profile with major studios by taking the lead role in "Beauty and the Beast", and the soon to be released "The Circle".

Rupert Grint

The third of the main trio of the Harry Potter series hasn't been less busy that Emma or Daniel after Harry Potter. Rupert followed up his Potter career with "Into the White" in 2012 and was also in Fredrik Bond's "Charlie Countryman", starring Shia LaBeouf. Rupert reunited with the late Potter alumni Alan Rickman in 2013's "CBGB" before he made his last feature appearance in conspiring to fake the moon landing in 2015's "Moonwalkers". Since then, Grint has moved to television, taking a lead role in "Sick Note" as a patient misdiagnosed with a fatal illness.

Evanna Lynch

Evanna Lynch had it good after she was done as Luna Lovegood in the Potter series. In 2013, she appeared in "G.B.F" and was seen twice on screen in 2015's "Addiction: A 60's Love Story" and her most successful role yet as the lead in "My Name is Emily". Outside the movie world, Evanna worked to be a role model to promote healthy self-esteem and positive body image, after going through rehabilitation for anorexia.

Domhnall Gleeson

The eldest of the Weasley children has had a meteoric rise after his brief appearance in the final two-part end of the Potter franchise. Making small appearance in notable movies like "Dredd" and "Anna Karenina", Domhnall fully came unto his own with the leading role in Richard Curtis' time-traveling romance "About Time". Since then, he's being making a name for himself in the indies with "Frank", "Calvary", "Ex Machina" and "Brooklyn" before hitting the big time with a role in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". Domhnall is keeping the momentum strong with his next expected "Star Wars" appearance for "The Last Jedi", but hasn't left his indie roots with "Goodbye Christopher Robin" as the creator of Winnie the Pooh.

Tom Felton

Tom Felton has had a false start after the end of the Potter series as the dashing but despicable Draco Malfoy. He quickly got an equally cruel role in Rupert Sanders' "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", but went a little quiet after two period dramas, "Belle" and "In Secret" in 2013. After working for a year in television, Felton returned to the big screen in 2014's "Against the Sun" and in 2016's Jesus-inspired "Risen". Felton was most recently seen in some edgier action driven features in "Message from the King" and this year's "Stratton", but he is now a mainstay in "The Flash" TV series.

Matthew Lewis

The once chubby Neville Longbottom has gone through a tremendous transformation throughout the series, and it has been giving him plenty of favors by the end of the Potter franchise. Matthew was mainly hopping between television series since the Potter franchise ended, starting off with "The Syndicate" in 2012, then to "Bluestone 42" from 2013 to 2015, then "Happy Valley" and finally "Ripper Street" in 2016. He made the odd appearance on film between those shows, most notably as the absent boyfriend in the Emilia Clarke starring "Me Before You". Matthew will be co-starring with Margot Robbie, Simon Pegg and Mike Myers in the upcoming "Terminal" due this year.

Katie Leung

The first love of Harry Potter was uncertain if there was a future in acting after the end of her love affair with Harry, but Katie Leung was soon inspired to do acting again while attending a drama course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. A few stage plays and a mini-series later, Katie took her biggest role in the BBC produced "One Child" television series, where she plays as an adopted child to British parents who returns to her birthplace in Guangzhou. Katie will be seen in the upcoming sequel to "Trainspotting" and has finished filming with Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan for "The Foreigner" this year.

Bonnie Wright

The one true love of Harry Potter and the Weasley sister has not had left with a high profile than the other Potter alumni but not without any work. Bonnie Wright continues her acting career in relatively smaller projects like "The Sea", "After the Dark" and "Before I Sleep", all in 2013. She only made one feature appearance in 2014 for "My Dad is Scrooge" and another in 2015 in "Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?". Her upcoming outing in the Scottish adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" could be a boost to put her back in the limelight.
