We're drawing closer to the middle of August but the month still has quite a few horror film offerings up its sleeves for horror enthusiasts. The movies that are showing now in Singaporean cinemas are made up of older titles like "Pee Nak 2" as well as newer releases like "Roh" and "The Clock: Spirits Awakening".
Without further ado, let's see what horror films are opening this weekend as well as throughout the rest of the month.
The Wretched
Being a rebellious teen, nobody believes Ben when he learns that his neighbours have been taken over by a malevolent spirit from the woods. The possessed neighbours are now preying on the children in the small town where Ben is spending the summer with his father, and he will have to find a way to stop the spirit.

Baba Yaga: Terror Of The Dark Forest
Egor notices that the new nanny hired by his parents to take care of his baby sister is acting strangely, but his parents dismiss his worry. When his sister goes missing and his parents don't even seem to remember her existence, Egor digs into the nanny's life and discovers her horrifying true identity: an ancient Slavic demon called Baba Yaga.

The New Mutants
Anya Taylor-Joy stars as Magik alongside Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Sunspot and Blu Hunt as Mirage in this horror instalment of the "X-Men" franchise. The five young mutants are held against their will in a secret facility, where they discover their superpowers and must now learn to use them in order to escape.

Dreamkatcher
This is worth a watch since the godmother of horror, Lin Shaye ("Insidious", "The Grudge"), is part of the cast. The movie follows a boy who steals his neighbour's dreamcatcher in hopes of getting rid of his nightmares, but he ends up getting possessed by an evil entity instead.
