Raid through "The Raid 2"

Following the Indonesian brutally beautiful action film "The Raid: Redemption", director Gareth Evans will be bringing us the highly anticipated sequel "The Raid 2: Berandal". The sequel will take place only a short time after the first raid and lead character Rama goes undercover with the thugs of Jakarta and plans to bring down the syndicate and uncover the corruption within his police force.

The sequel also premiered at this year's Sundance festival, where it has already received critical acclaim, even though Evans had admitted to only finishing the film edits just 48 hours before Sundance.

"That was stress magnified. Unreal, man," said Evans.

He also talked about the lengths he made to push the boundaries of the film, including the limits of the lead character Rama, played by Iko Uwais, "I want to question the audience: 'How far will you follow this protagonist? What if he starts to do stuff that is worse than what the bad guys are doing?' I hope it makes you guys, the audience, ask: 'Is this still my hero, even if he's corrupted almost entirely by his experience?'"

"The Raid 2: Berandal" has the general release date of 13 March 2014.

Iko Uwais as Rama brooding in the dark.

There he is again, brooding in a hoodie.

The hoodie might be his attempt of a disguise.
