See the World War II battle of "Dunkirk"

"Dunkirk", another Christopher Nolan magnum opus, is marching onto the big screen this 20 July. Based on the Dunkirk evacuation in World War II, the war drama follows the Allied troops from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France who are trapped by the German Army on the beaches of Dunkirk, facing an impossible situation as the enemy closes in. Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Harry Styles star in the highly-anticipated movie. This is English Actor Fionn Whitehead's film debut where he plays a British Army private named Tommy.

Whitehead was cast as the lead actor of the movie after a secretive auditioning process that took several months.


One Direction member Harry Styles plays Alex, who is waiting by the beach along with Gibson, played by Aneurin Barnard, and Tommy.
