22 Apr –Universal Pictures has ended up searching and has given offer to American actor Jeremy Renner the role of Jason Bourne in upcoming film "The Bourne Legacy", reports ComingSoon website. Renner, a multiple Oscar nominee for his roles in Academy Award-winning war thriller The Hurt Locker" as well as the 2010 American crime film "The Town", is expected to join a hidden government program that is even more risky than the previous program that produced Bourne. Based on a report by Deadline, the studio has tested a number of actors which includes Dominic Cooper from "The Devil's Double", Joel Edgerton from upcoming film "The Thing", "Tron: Legacy" co-star Garrett Hedlund and also Luke Evans before settling their eyes on Renner. Renner, who is currently involved with fairytale reboot "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters"'s film production, will also be starring in director Brad Bird's upcoming action film "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" and can be seen in the soon-to-be-released superhero blockbuster "Thor" in an appearance as Hawkeye, one of the future members of "The Avengers". The production for "The Bourne Legacy" is scheduled to begin in September 2011 with the release date of 3 August 2012.
