16 Feb – Colombia Pictures has announced the final title for the reboot of the Spiderman franchise to be "The Amazing Spider-Man". The reboot of Spider-man sees two different spectrum of Spiderman as the original trilogy of Spiderman movies sees Tobey Maguire have his spider sense after being bitten by a genetically-engineered "super spider" which gave him superhuman abilities, including increased strength, speed, and the abilities to scale walls and generate organic webbing while Andrew Garfield have to learn all of his spider abilities in high school while shooting web through a web shooter. "The Amazing Spider-Man" stars Garfield as Peter Parker, a high school nerd turned superhero, with Emma Stone as his love interest Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as the Lizard. Rounding up all of the cast are Martin Sheen, Sally Field, C. Thomas Howell, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Julianne Nicholson and Campbell Scott. "The Amazing Spider-Man" is slated for a nationwide release on 5 July 2012.
