Captain leads!

26 Jul – For North America, the boy wizard's last stand, "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2" fell prey to "Captain America: The First Avenger" which took the first place with US $65 million on its opening weekend, leaving the Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake comedy "Friends With Benefits" to debut at third place for the weekend just gone (21-24 July), according to online tracker Box Office Mojo.

In Malaysia however, "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2" managed to hold its place at the top spot, while "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" remains at second place. Donnie Yen and Takeshi Kaneshiro's "Wu Xia" debuted at the third spot among the blockbuster films at the local box office.

For Singapore, "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2" also stays strong at the top spot while "Wu Xia" opened up to second place surprisingly taking down "Transformers" from its initial spot to third place at the local box office for the weekend just gone. A notable mention would be the controversial "Sex And Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" which managed to pull in crowds to rake in SG $222,000 over the weekend.

Other new releases and sneak shows last week in Malaysia include "Singham", "Kanchana" and "Senario The Movie Ops Pocot".
