2 Nov – Dreamworks Studios' latest animated feature "Puss In Boots", managed to dominate the top spot by raking in US $34 million for the weekend of Halloween. Following the vigilante cat adventure is, "Paranormal Activity 3" at second place, which seemed to have lost its scare factor for this Halloween to hold on to first place again this week. The Justin Timberlake starring sci-fi thriller, "In Time", however does not serve justice to its name, as the movie made its debut at a weak third place showing that the Halloween weekend was definitely not the 'time' for it mark its entrance to make for the North American box office chart (27 – 30 Oct), according to online tracker, Box Office Mojo.
In Malaysia however, Tamil movie "7aam Arivu" took over the top spot as "Velayutham", also another Tamil movie, took second place last weekend. "Real Steel" which was at first place last weekend now rests at third place as "Paranormal Activity 3" which made its debut last week, also proved to lack the scare factor needed for the Halloween spirit in the region at the local box office for the weekend just gone. In Singapore however, "In Time" had a solid opening as it managed to dominate the top spot, leaving "The Three Musketeers" to slash its way to the second place while "Real Steel" seems to have lost steam and settled at third place at the local box office for the past weekend. Other new releases and sneak peeks last week in Malaysia include "Apa Tengok-Tengkok", "Ra One", The Woman Knight Of Mirror Lake", "Hong Kong Ghost Stories" and "Mural". In Singapore, the new releases and sneak peeks last week were "Thor", re-released in IMAX 3D, "Footloose", "Ra One" and "7aam Arivu".
