First class X-Men info

The original "X-Men" film series has been revealed to return with a 4th and 5th movie.

29 Mar – Producer of the "X-Men" franchise Lauren Schuler Donner revealed in an interview that "X-Men 4 & 5", "Deadpool" and "Wolverine" are in the works, according to the latest issue of Empire magazine.

On future instalments of the "X-Men" series, Donner expressed that "X-Men 4" and "X-Men 5" will continue the story from 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand".

"We took the treatment to Fox and they love it... And "X4" leads into "X5"," shared Donner in the article.

She had quite a bit more to say about the much-anticipated "Deadpool" feature and according to Donner, the movie apparently has an R rating and Ryan Reynolds is still set for the reboot of the character movie fans first saw in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"

Ryan Reynolds will reprise Deadpool's character in movie spin-off

"It's a total reboot. We're either going to pretend that (Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine") didn't happen, or mock it; which he could do. It's insane, it's definitely comedy. But it's an R script, it's really irreverent and violent. Right away, we're out of the X-Men world."

Donner also provided some insight on Ryan Reynold's involvement despite his busy schedule with other movie commitments and well as the search for a director.

"He's very involved (Reynolds). He's working with the writers on the screenplay. I'm tellin' ya, it's true to the comic. You'll see Wade Wilson, the good-looking Ryan Reynolds! You'll see Deadpool in his costume and you'll see the cancer-scarred face. We're looking for a director."

The characters in "X-Men: First Class", the prequel of the trilogy series, slated for June 2011 release.

She did not miss to divulge a bit more juicy details on the new 2012's "The Wolverine", a sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" that is going to be set in Japan.

"It will have depth and a dramatic backbone. And yet there's more action in this one than in any one we've ever done. It's such a good script. We have the great Christopher McQuarrie ("The Tourist") writing and it's very true to the Japanese saga. This is Logan on his own," added Donner.

Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to with this bit of news, especially with "X-Men: First Class" releasing this year as a beginning of a new trilogy that will run parallel to the original upcoming "X-Men" sequels.
