25 Sep – From being a former kick-boxing fighter to a rising action female star, "Haywire" actress Gina Carano is officially the first to join an all-female version of "The Expendables" movie helmed by Adi Shankar's banner 1984 Private Defense Contractors, according to ComingSoon. "I don't know how I'm supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of "The Expendables" without Gina Carano in it, "Shankar told the trade. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba," Shankar claimed. Dutch Southern, who wrote the 2010 script "Hoof Harrington's Greatest Hits" was hired to pen the script for the film. Since the decision on combining several female action stars in the "The Expendables" was announced back in August, fans had been curious about the choice of cast for the production and thus looking forward to actresses like Angelina Jolie, Carrie Ann Moss, Michelle Yeoh and Milla Jovovich to portray the girl power in Shankar's film.
Carano will next be seen in Justin Lin's "The Fast And The Furious 6" on 23 May 2013, playing a key role alongside Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson. She will also play a widow hunting the men who killed her husband in John Stockwell's action thriller "In The Blood" due for release mid next year.
