22 Mar – Following their comeback film "The Muppets" by Disney last year starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams, the Muppets are fast regaining their Hollywood fame, and their latest honour was a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk Of Fame in front of the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles recently, according to AFP. Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and other members of the Muppets were all presented at the event to receive their star, numbered the 2,466th on the historic landmark. "We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in show biz," said Kermit. Created by late "The Muppeteer" legend Jim Henson during the 1950s, Henson's daughter Lisa, who was present at the event, expressed her pride with the legacy that her father left. "The Muppets have truly arrived with their own star on Hollywood Boulevard in this amazing location which also happens to be very near my father's star and Kermit's star." Over the course of the years, the Muppets had been featured in and referred to in American culture through television shows such as "Sam And Friends", "The Ed Sullivan Show", "The Jimmy Dean Show" and "Sesame Street". Moreover, "The Muppet Show" that was hosted by Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy won four Emmy Awards in 1978, and to date, seven Muppet movies have already been made, which includes 1992's famous Christmas movie, "The Muppet Christmas Carol", starring Oscar-winner Michael Caine.
