24 Jul – Fans of Andrew Garfield and his fresh faced innocence have been told that "Peter is a little more complicated," by director Marc Webb at the recent Comic-Con held in San Diego. This time around, fans of Spidey will be assured that the sequel will bring a bigger and bolder form on the Marvel superhero. Webb explained, "At the beginning of this movie Peter Parker is having a blast being Spider-Man." "There's a spirit of fun that we tried to build the foundation of this film on, but he's a little more complicated too."
Webb also discussed about Electro's effect on Peter Parker in the sequel. According to him, "I think the most important thing he brings out in Peter is the ability to empathize with people you don't want to empathize with." The "(500) Days Of Summer" director added, "It can be fun to hate the bad guy, but there has to be an emotional component to make it more interesting." "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will be swinging into theaters on 18 April 2014. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be reprising their respective roles, while new cast additions Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Paul Giamatti will play Electro, Harry Osborn and The Rhino, respectively.
