Danny Boyle to work on "Porno"

Danny Boyle will work on the long-awaited sequel to cult hit "Trainspotting".

11 Mar – Back in 1996, Irvine Welsh's book "Trainspotting" was adapted into a fan favourite of a film by Danny Boyle. The film starred Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller about British drug addicts trying to get clean, but face challenges in the form of the allure of drugs and influence of friends.

Now it looks like Danny Boyle is in the works of making the sequel, based on the second book in the series by the same author called "Porno". The film is aiming for a 2016 release.

The book sequel focuses on the survivors of the first film, ten years after "Trainspotting", and will take place in the pornography business.

Currently, the busy filmmaker is working on two separate period pieces, but he would not say anything yet about his current projects.

Danny Boyle has quickly become a household name after his work directing great projects like "Slumdog Millionaire", "127 Hours" and last year's fantastic opening ceremony for the Olympics.

Says Boyle on the sequel, "The reason for doing it again is that people cherish the original, people remember it or have caught up with it if they never saw it because they were younger. So you want to make sure you don't disappoint people. That will be the only criteria I think."
