Emma Stone aiming for horror

Emma Stone is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak".

17 Jan – Director Guillermo del Toro had first announced a new project on horror flick "Crimson Peak" a month ago and now American star Emma Stone has become the first person to show interest in getting a role for the Mexican filmmaker's new venture, according to ComingSoon site.

Targeting February 2014 as the production date for "Crimson Peak", del Toro and Lucinda Coxon have been rewriting the script for the film, which was first written by Matthew Robins and the director himself. No plot details are revealed as of yet, but it was claimed that the ghost movie is a classic haunted piece that will be presented in modern conventions.

"The film will be a very set-oriented, classical, but at the same time exude a modern take on a ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules," said del Toro in an interview with Deadline.

Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim" will be released in the summer of 2013.

Fans will get to see quite a lot from del Toro this year as "Mama", his new horror piece he produced, will be released in cinemas very soon, and the highly anticipated "Pacific Rim", which stars Idris Elba and Charlie Hunnam will tackle cinemas this summer.

Meanwhile, Stone is also having a busy year with the recently release "Gangster Squad", Peter Farrelly's star-studded comedy "Movie 43" alongside Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Kate Winslet this month and she will be gearing up for the shooting of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" with actor-boyfriend Andrew Garfield very soon.
