No Craig for "Dragon Tattoo" 2?

Can Bond save himself from being written out of "The Girl Who Played With Fire"?

2 Feb – It has been a year since the US version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was released and word out is that the delay with its sequel is due to its male lead, Daniel Craig's demand for a higher pay raise after the box office success of "Skyfall".

The Hollywood Reporter had revealed that Sony still has options for Craig to star in the two sequels but as the second book, "The Girl Who Played With Fire" focuses majorly on Lisbeth Salander, there is a possibility the studio would choose to write out Craig's character, journalist Mikael Blomkvist.

How will the sequel fare with Daniel Craig's absence?

According to Craig's camp, salary negotiations have yet to commence but the actor is interested in returning to the role.

Currently, director David Finch has yet to confirm his involvement in the project but actress Rooney Mara will reprise her role as the heroine, Lisbeth Salander.
