20 Oct – "Bang Bang!" is now officially 2014's highest grossing Bollywood film in North America as it has managed to rake in a total gross of USD 2.56 million. The action movie, starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, has managed to beat another Bollywood hit, "Kick". According to Variety, the Salman Khan movie only managed to gross USD 2.47 million. However, "Kick" currently still has a higher collection worldwide compared to "Bang Bang!", beating the latter's USD 52 million by USD 9 million. It remains to be seen whether Hrithik's new movie will reach the same level of success as his 2013's "Krrish 3", which also grossed USD 61 million worldwide. Vijay Singh, Fox Star Studios chief, says that "Bang Bang!" has many firsts as a Bollywood movie. It is the first movie to have the biggest release outside of India, released to a total of over 850 cinemas. It is also the first to be released in countries where Bollywood movies were not officially released, such as Lebanon, Iraq and Burma. "Bang Bang!" is a remake of Hollywood's 2010 action comedy "Knight and Day", starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It tells the story of a secret agent on the run from the Secret Service, and gets caught up with a woman while trying to clear his name. The next Bollywood movie everyone is anticipating is Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year", coming out this 22 October 2014. [Main photo source: celebrityface.in]
