Bill Murray is Baloo in "Jungle Book"


Forget about your worries and your strife, because Disney already found the man for the beloved bear Baloo.

4 Aug – Look for 'the bare necessities' as Disney has just found the perfect actor to play the role of the carefree bear in "The Jungle Book", Baloo, whom is none other than "Ghostbusters" actor, Bill Murray.

Deadline has confirmed that Murray will be providing the voice for the laid-back bear, Baloo in Disney's new reboot of "The Jungle Book" that is directed by Jon Favreau.

It was also announced that Christopher Walken and Giancarlo Esposito will be joining the cast as the respective roles of orang-utan King Louie, the ruler of monkeys and apes and Akela, the leader of the wolf pack.


Walken (Left) will be playing the human wannabe orang-utan and Esposito is cast as the Indian wolf, Akela.

Murray, Walken and Esposito will be joining other talented cast in the upcoming film; Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Lupita Nyong'o as Raksha, Scarlet Johansson as Kaa, Idris Elba as Shere Khan and newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli.

The upcoming "The Jungle Book" film that is set to release in cinemas on 8 October 2015 will be a mixture of live-action and animation directed by Favreau and scripted by Justin Marks.

On a side note, Warner Bros version of "The Jungle Book" which is renamed as "The Jungle Book: Origin" will be released in cinemas on 21 October 2016 in the U.S.
