30 Sep – Emma Watson may no longer be playing Hermione, but the young lady is still casting some bewitching spells. After her long run on "Harry Potter", the actress has continued to land prominent roles in numerous critically-appraised films.

And the magic goes on – Watson has been cast in the leading role for period thriller film "Colonia". Watson will be starring opposite "Rush" actor, Daniel Brühl, Deadline reports.

"Colonia" is directed by Florian Gallenberger, who has previously worked with Brühl on "Honolulu" and "John Rabe". It is a film inspired by true events which occurred during the Chilean military coup of 1973.

Brühl last worked with Gallenberger in the director's 2009 film "John Rabe".

In the film, Watson and Brühl will be playing young couple Daniel and Lena. When Daniel is abducted by Pinochet's secret police, Lena tracks him and ends up at Colonia Dignidad (Dignity Colony), a sealed off area that is really a cult disguised as a charitable mission. Lena joins the cult, attempting to find Daniel there.

"Colonia" is set to be filmed in Luxemburg, Germany and South America, going on until year-end. No release date has been set for the film for now.

However, fans who are looking forward to seeing more of Watson and Brühl on the big screen will be able to catch the former starring in "Regression" and the latter in "The Woman in Gold". Both movies are slotted for 2015 releases.
