6 Nov – With a modest notice in The Times newspaper, "The Imitation Game" actor Benedict Cumberbatch announced his engagement to theatre director Sophie Hunter, BBC News reports. The English actor has so far kept his relationship with Hunter on the down low, having only been spotted together for the first time in public at The 2014 French Open in June. Although Hunter herself is no stranger to being in the spotlight like her other half as she has also dabbled in acting, appearing in "Midsomer Murders", "Vanity Fair" and "Torchwood". Cumberbatch reportedly flew to Edinburgh, according to Mail On Sunday, to ask for Hunter's mother's permission for her hand in marriage. Following a positive response, the gentleman then posted a traditional and simplistic engagement notice in The Times newspaper's classified section, naming both sets of parents in it.
With the recent news of his possible "Doctor Strange" casting, his Oscar-tipped role in "The Imitation Game" as Alan Turing and now his happy engagement, Cumberbatch is living the life. "The Imitation Game" opens in North American cinemas on 28 November 2014. Cumberbatch will also be appearing in this December's "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies".
