"Ghostbusters 3" officially confirmed!


"Ghostbusters" now with a complete female cast is officially moving forward!

11 Oct – The director behind the romantic comedy film, "Bridesmaids", Paul Feig has officially confirmed on Twitter that he will helm the reboot of the highly anticipated supernatural comedy, "Ghostbusters".

Feig mentioned that comedy writer, Katie Dipploid who wrote the cop comedy, "The Heat" starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy will pen the script for the new reboot, E! Online reports.


Feig posted the confirmation news on his Twitter.

The reboot film has been in the works for quite some time, going though several drafts, rewrites and now it is finally back on track.

Weeks before the official announcement was made, the original actor from the 80s franchise, Bill Murray told the Toronto Star that he would love to see an all-female cast for the third installment of the "Ghostbusters" franchise.

Murray voiced out some suggestion for the female cast for the reboot, "Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny – God, she's funny!"

"I like this girl Linda Cardinelli a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there," said Murray to Toronto Star.

At the same interview, McCarthy responded to Murray's comments, "Oh my God, that's daunting. That's taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all."

"Ghostbusters 3" is expected to arrive in U.S. cinemas in 2016.
