11 Nov – It was previously reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was eyeing the role of Snowden in Oliver Stone's "The Snowden Files". Now it is confirmed that the "Sin City" actor will indeed be playing the part he was hoping to play. Gordon-Levitt has been confirmed as the lead role, The Verge reports, and production will begin in Munich from January next year. Oliver Stone has written the script to his yet-to-be-officially-titled movie based on two books, "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" by Luke Harding and "Time of the Octopus" by Anatoly Kucherena. The movie will revolve around Edward Snowden, a former National Security Agency contractor who is now infamous for releasing classified NSA documents that exposed the U.S. government's mass surveillance programs. Gordon-Levitt can be seen on the silver screen next year as high-wire artist Philippe Petit in his biographical film "The Walk".
