17 Sep – The popular 1997 teen slasher flick, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is getting a reboot from Sony Pictures with "Oculus" director and writer, Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard set to re-adapt the movie from the original 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan. The original film was directed by Jim Gillespie with the screenplay written by "Scream" writer, Kevin Williamson. It grossed over USD125 million globally. The first film, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr., as four friends who are stalked by a mysterious killer, one year after they secretly tried to cover up a fatal car accident in which they were all involved. The film spawned two sequels, "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" in 1998 which also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. as the main leads and the less popular third film of the franchise, "I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer" in 2006 which features no returning cast members from the original film. According to Deadline, the producer of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, Neal H. Moritz which also produced the original "I Know What You Did Last Summer", will return as the producer for the reboot. The film is slated for a 2016 release in U.S.
