19 Aug – Singer-actor Jaycee Chan and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko have recently became the latest stars to be arrested for drugs, in a series of drug busts involving celebrities made by the Beijing Police this year. South China Morning Post reported that the Beijing Public Security Bureau released a statement on its official Weibo, saying Jaycee, the son of action star Jackie Chan was detained on 18 August with the 23 year-old "Tiny Times" star, Kai Ko among other suspects in the Dongcheng District. It was reported that urine tests on both stars have returned positive for marijuana, while both of them have confessed to using it. The police also recovered more than 100 grams of marijuana from Jaycee's home, and that the actor will be put under criminal detention in suspicion of providing a place for others to abuse drugs. If he was found guilty, Jaycee may be facing a maximum prison sentence of three years. Jackie Chan has yet to make any respond at the time of writing. Back in April, the actor expressed his admiration for his formerly estranged son for his hard work on organising his birthday event, stating that the 32 year-old may be ready to succeed his business empire.
