"Maze Runner" still running top

The Wes Ball directed film, "The Maze Runner" conquered the weekend box office of Malaysia, Singapore and U.S.

23 Sep – The latest dystopian film, "The Maze Runner" has conquered the weekend box office chart in Malaysia, Singapore and U.S. for the weekend of 18 to 21 September 2014 while "A Walk Among the Tombstones" gets second place in all three territories.

In it's opening week in U.S., "The Maze Runner" took in a weekend gross of over USD32.5 million. Liam Neeson's latest crime thriller surprisingly managed to place second, grossing USD12.7 million over the weekend.

In third place, the comedy-drama film based on the book of the same name, "This is Where I Leave You" opened up with a total gross of over USD11.5 million in U.S.

Landing first place for the second week in a row in Malaysia's weekend box office is "The Maze Runner". In its debut, "A Walk Among the Tombstones" gets second place while the third place goes to the Tamil horror comedy, "Aranmanai" which also just opened last weekend.

"A Walk Among the Tombstones" lands second place in all three territories.

Similarly, "The Maze Runner" also gets first in Singapore for the second time running, while the second place goes to "A Walk Among the Tombstones. Coming in at third place however, is James DeMonaco's thriller, "The Purge: Anarchy".

Movies that also opened in Malaysia last week were, "Daawat-E-Ishq", "Khoobsurat", "Golden Brother", "The Purge: Anarchy", "Hijrah Cinta", "Nasi Tangas", and "The Swimmers".

Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week were, "Daawat-E-Ishq", "Khoobsurat", "The Damned", "The Rover", "This is Where I Leave You", "The Longest Week" and "Nasi Tangas".
