21 Mar – German actor Daniel Brühl whose brilliant portrayal as racer Niki Lauda in the Formula One film, "Rush" has earned him worldwide acclaim, has been added to the list of celebrities slated to attend the 2014 Laureus Sports Awards this 26 March at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur. The 35-year-old will join British actor Benedict Cumberbatch ("Sherlock") who will host the Awards Ceremony and Oscar and Grammy winner Jamie Foxx ("Django Unchained") who will perform for the star-studded audience. As more names are expected to be announced within the next few days, the list of confirmed sports persons attending the prestigious sporting ceremony are; Sebastian Coe, Michael Johnson and Mark Spitz, football giants Bobby Charlton, Marcel Desailly and Ruud Gullit and sports legends, including boxing's Marvelous Marvin Hagler, rugby's Sean Fitzpatrick and skateboard legend Tony Hawk.
The 15th Laureus World Sports Awards, which recognises sporting achievement, are the premier honours on the international sporting calendar. The winners, as voted by the Laureus World Sports Academy, the ultimate sports jury, is made up of 46 of the greatest sportsmen and sportswomen of all time, will be unveiled at a globally televised Awards Ceremony staged at Istana Budaya in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday, March 26.
