17 May – Animation director Raman Hui will be making his live-action debut in a hybrid feature for Edko Films. According to Film Business Asia, the Chinese language film titled as "Monster Hunt" will feature computer generated characters alongside live actors, namely China and Hong Kong stars, Bai Baihe, Kai Ko, Yan Ni, Jiang Wu, Eric Tsang, Sandra Ng and Wallace Chung in the cast. Live-action production of the film has recently wrapped and "Monster Hunt" would be pitched at the Cannes Film Festival along with "Coming Home", "Wolf Totem", "The Golden Era", "Temporary Family", and "Rise of the Legend" under the Edko Films banner. Described as a family-friendly fairy tale adventure, "Monster Hunt" is aiming for release date on the Lunar New Year of 2015. Hong Kong born Hui was previously an animation supervisor for DreamWorks' "Shrek" and "Shrek 2", before making his directorial debut as a co-director for "Shrek 3".
