The Rock is not playing Shazam

The Rock finally reveals his character in movie "Shazam". And it's not Shazam.

4 Sep – After endlessly teasing fans about his appearance in Warner Bros.' upcoming movie "Shazam", Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally reveals he will not be playing the titular role after all.

The Rock's post came with this picture of
Black Adam antagonizing Shazam.
The "Hercules" actor previously hinted in an interview with Total Film that he would be involved in the movie, his words leading to fans speculating that the buff actor will be playing Shazam himself.

However, Johnson dashed all those hopes of seeing him in the "former Captain Marvel" getup as he posted on his Twitter last night: ""Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot." My honor to become.. #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics".

The photo he posted along with the tweet seems to emphasize his decision on taking on the antagonist role instead of the protagonist. Before this he mentioned to MTV that he had been in a lingo with Warner Bros., deciding which of the character he will be playing. Looks like now it's decided – The Rock is turning evil.

Black Adam will be a darker and more intense character compared to what Johnson usually goes for in movies. Fans are glad that the mystery of Johnson's character in "Shazam" is solved, but now another question begs to be answered – who will star opposite Johnson as Shazam?

Production date has yet to be set but it is confirmed that Darren Lemke, screenwriter of "Turbo" and "Jack the Giant Slayer, will be penning the script.
