"The Conjuring 2" delayed

"The Conjuring 2" gets a new release date.

12 Nov – The sequel to James Wan's 2013 horror movie "The Conjuring" has conjured up a new release date. Originally slated for release on Halloween 2015, "The Conjuring 2" is now set to haunt the cinemas in summer 2016 instead.

It was announced last month that the release will be moved to an unspecified date in 2016 and looks like Warner Bros. has finally decided on one. ComingSoon.net reports that the movie will be released in North America on 10 June 2016.

The new date means the sequel will be going face-to-face with Jon M. Chu's heist sequel "Now You See Me 2" and Seth Gordon's video game adaptation "Uncharted", though the latter might be eyeing a change in its release date as well.

"The Conjuring 2" will continue with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren on yet another of their supernatural adventure. No other details have been revealed but James Wan will be back in the director's seat and Chad and Carey Hayes, who penned the first movie's script, will be writing the screenplay.

James Wan has two movies coming to the cinemas in 2015, "Furious 7" and "Insidious: Chapter 3".
