5 Feb – "Pirates of The Caribbean" star, Johnny Depp has tied the knot with American actress Amber Heard. The couple who got engaged back in December 2012, had a small private ceremony at Depp's Los Angeles home yesterday. According to People Magazine, Depp, 51 and Heard, 28 will now be preparing for a bigger ceremony on Depp's 45-acre private island, Little Hall's Pond Cay, in Bahamas this weekend. The actor bought Little Hall's Pond Cay for USD3.6 million after shooting "Pirates of The Caribbean" in 2004. The couple met each other while filming "The Rum Diary" back in 2011 and got together over the holidays in 2012 after Depp had split with longtime partner, Vanessa Paradis. Despite the long term relationship Depp had with Paradis and with their two children, they never got married.
"Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married. If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not. But the thing is, I'd be so scared of ruining her last name! She's got such a good last name," he was once quoted as saying while still with Paradis. Both Depp and Heard had chosen their wedding to take place this month due the hectic schedules they will be soon facing, Daily Mail Online reported. Heard will be filming a movie in London while Depp will have to be prepare filming for his next "Pirate of The Caribbean" film in Australia. He will once again be returning to his iconic role in the movie as Captain Jack Sparrow, while Geoffrey Rush will be reprising his role as Captain Barbossa, Javier Bardem as the villain Captain Brand, Brenton Thwaites as the British soldier Henry, and Kaya Scodelario playing Henry's love interest. The "Pirates of The Caribbean" will be directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg and has been confirmed for release on the big screen in 2017.
