24 Feb – Movie distributor Golden Village Pictures has announced that the Singaporean film "Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen" directed by Jack Neo, has collected SGD2.8 million domestically since its release on 19 February 2015. According to Channel News Asia, the movie now holds the record for an Asian film which has the highest ever box office takings in its opening weekend in Singapore. The movie is followed by previous record holder, Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle" which collected a total of SGD1.9 million in its opening weekend. Neo's previous national service themed comedy films also did well, as they had opening weekend ticket sales of SGD1.51 million for "Ah Boys To Men 2" and SGD1.50 million for "Ah Boys To Men". "With everyone's support, we defended our turf and this is a victory for the local movie industry," said Neo in press statement. The director had also mentioned plans of another "Ah Boys To Men" sequel if the current film's box office result is satisfactory. "Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen" is about a group of young recruits in Singapore who enter the elite Naval Diving Unit for training. The movie stars Tosh Zhang, Wang Weiliang, Joshua Tan, Maxi Lim and more. (Photo Source: TodayOnline.com)
