Jack Black appearing at Oscars


The actor and lead singer of Tenacious D will make a "special appearance" at the Oscars.

8 Feb – Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have announced that Jack Black is set to take the stage at the upcoming 87th Annual Academy Awards for a very special performance.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black is the latest performer announced to join the awards show.

"Jack Black is a complete original comic voice and we're beyond thrilled that he has agreed to join the Oscars show in a very special sequence," said Zadan and Meron in a joint statement.

Black is well known for his voice over for Po in "Kung Fu Panda," and also other movies such as "Tropic Thunder" and also "School of Rock."

He is also a musician, currently the lead singer and guitarist of the comedy rock duo Tenacious D which he formed in 1994 with his buddy Kyle Gass.

The 87th Annual Academy Awards hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will be held on 22 February 2015 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood. It will also be televised live in more than 225 countries around the world.
