5 Aug – The live-action movie adaptation of Isayama Hajime's manga "Attack on Titan" will be released simultaneously in two versions in Singaporean cinemas. The original version of "Attack on Titan – Part 1", which has an M18 rating, will be played in five selected GV and Cathay cinemas. The edited version, rated NC16, will be shown in nine cinemas overall. The edited version will also be released on D-BOX at GV Bishan, making it the first ever Asian film to be released on D-BOX in Singapore. The decision of releasing two versions simultaneously was made in consideration of the huge "Attack on Titan" manga and animation local fan base. "We hope that by releasing the NC16 version, younger fans are also given the opportunity to watch the movie that they've anticipated for so long. At the same time, the M18 original (un-cut) version is screened as well so as not to disappoint fans who are 18 and above," said Joyce Lee, Managing Director, Encore Films in a press statement. Sneak previews for the movie will open from 6 to 10 August, but the movie will only be officially released on 13 August.
