11 Nov – Ipoh has always been quite the hot spot for movie filming, what with its scenic beauty and colonial charms. It comes as no surprise then that yet another movie has chosen it as its filming location. "My Love, Sinema", written and helmed by director Tan Ai Leng, recently held its lensing ceremony at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites, where it was also revealed that actor Tosh Zhang and actress Cheryl Wee will be the main cast for the upcoming movie. Tosh stars as Kheong, a cinema trainee with a true passion for films, while Cheryl stars as a Chinese teacher who is torn between her true feelings and her duty as a daughter. Joining the duo is Taiwanese actor Jeff Wang, who plays Kheong's friend and mentor, Lee. Cheryl was last seen starring in Mediacorp TV crime drama series, "Mata Mata". Tosh, who will also be seen next in Ong Kuo Sin's "Mr. Unbelievable", is well known for his roles in the "Ah Boys to Men" and "The Lion Men" franchises. Helmer of said franchises, Jack Neo, has also chosen Ipoh as his filming location for his 2016 movie, "Long Long Time Ago". Other directors who have also filmed in Ipoh include Dante Lam and Ang Lee. "My Love, Sinema" follows starry-eyed 20-year-old budding film projectionist Kheong, who moves from his village to the city, where he not only meets new friends but also, the love of his life.
