Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe in "The Danish Girl"

5 Mar – A new film "The Danish Girl" will see Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne play Einar, a man who begins a groundbreaking journey to be the world's first transgender women, Lili Elbe.

According to Coming Soon, Focus Features' CEO Peter Schlessel has announced that the movie is set for cinemas this 27 November 2015.

Redmayne told the Daily Mail that he had been working with movement director Alexander Reynolds with his transgender character. He also said that he has been "observing the minutiae of feminine physicality".

"We're looking at everything from a feminine perspective. How to sit, to walk, to pose, roll on a pair of stockings. I think it's the most sensitive role I have played," Redmayne added.

Redmayne who is still learning to put on a pair of heels and walking in it, has even spoken to several members of the transgender community in order to prepare for his role in "The Danish Girl".

"The Danish Girl" will be directed by another Academy Award winner, Tom Hooper who had previously directed "The King's Speech" and "Les Misérables".

With his recent success in winning awards at the Golden Globes and Oscars, Redmayne said that he is not overwhelmed by the attention he has gotten from fans and the media due to his heavy workload of new projects he has been receiving.
